There are two techniques for reconstructing the hymen, depending on its state. If there are still remnants of it, they are rejoined; however, if the patient does not have them, a small portion of vaginal mucosa is taken to form a ring.
What precautions should be taken after surgery?
The patient only needs to rest for 24 hours after surgery to avoid risks of tearing, and should refrain from having sexual intercourse and engaging in physical exercise for at least a month.
It’s important to note that there may be slight bleeding in the first 72 hours. Additionally, it is not necessary for the patient to visit their plastic surgeon to have the stitches removed, as absorbable threads are used that fall off on their own.
